Dance Lessons

We love sharing the raw physical joy of Latin dance, but also using dance as a tool to explore principles of teamwork, communication, centered living and relationship more generally. Dance is just a great bonding experience with any group, and one form of salsa we teach is actually danced in a circle with your entire group (see Rueda de Casino under Class Descriptions). Learning just a few basic steps, and roles of lead and follow, which we meld to the collective expression of a group, you’ll feel the circle of energy go through the roof, and won’t soon forget it. In enhancing our ability to give and receive information through touch, when to listen when to speak, how we act as individuals and in a group, we open the doors to other forms of bonded give and take, exchange of energies and ideas. If you’d like to add some music to the mix, DJ K.Clave would be happy to provide anywhere from one to four hours of some of the best Latin music he’s collected over the last 20 years. Genres include all styles of salsa (of course!), merengue, bachata, cha-cha-cha, cumbia, vallenato, timba, and from Cuban folkloric to reggaeton and rap. We can tailor the tunes to your group’s needs, and can provide a professional sound system or use your group’s own.
